Sales Manager

Job Description and Requirements

We are currently looking for a Sales Manager for our location in Algeria. The Sales Manager will use their knowledge of animal production and sales skills to market feed products to dealers and poultry production facilities. Along with the commercial sales activity, this is also an educational role as it includes educating clients and prospects about our feeding program/products.

The Sales Manager will direct a team of marketing specialists and travel with them to assist in the development of the marketplace in Algeria. The Sales Manager will work closely in a team with the General Manager, and the Technical Representative to consult and educate clients and prospects about the optimal feeding program and management for their poultry. Based on scientific analysis and results about all the issues impacting poultry, the Sales Manager will use a customized feeding program to meet their client’s specific goals and make the best use of the resources they have on the farm.  The Sales Manager will report to the General Manger. Other key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Responsibilities:

  • Market and promote our poultry feeding programs/products to clients, prospects and dealers
  • Direct sale of poultry feeding programs/products including quoting prices, credit terms, and preparing sales contracts for orders obtained
  • Build a commercial team including sales force and support personnel,  recruitment, training, establish sales budgets, and negotiation with potential distributors and customers (credit conditions)
  • Manage pricing and marketing programs for poultry products 
  • Apply sales techniques to increase livestock feed market share and meet sales goals
  • Communicate with business leaders all relevant up to date information regarding competition, marketing and technical advancements to assist with business growth, sales and development Advise, recommend and counsel on feeding program and flock management
  • Maintain up to date competitor information to maximize sales opportunities and remain competitive in the marketplace
  • Maintain detailed records of their sales, develop prospect lists, file expense reports
  • Schedule visits to dealers and prepare sales presentations
  • Give meaningful and interactive lectures to the clients and prospects
  • Participate in industry trade show events or conventions
  • Attend events related to farming and/or poultry feeding programs/products
  • Plan, coordinate and run events for promotion of our poultry feeding programs/products
  • Network and establish distributing/dealership relationships
  • Identify commercial channels in potential markets, target regions, direct customers per region distributors per region, price list and commercial conditions (payment terms, discounts, etc.) for direct customers and distributors

 

Requirements:

  • BA or MA degree in marketing, business, animal science, agriculture, communications, or a veterinary related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the same or related role is required
  • Prior experience working in retail feed sales environments, such as a feed or farm supply stores, is beneficial
  • Arabic and/or French language is required
  • Excellent verbal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to learn and work within the team
  • Knowing how to work in the formulation software
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office software
